Honda Performance Development joins TMI AutoTech in announcing the 2011 Spec: RaceAtom Series

TMI AutoTech, exclusive North American manufacturer of the Ariel Atom, together with Honda Performance Development (HPD) are pleased to announce the launching of an exciting new racing series that will provide grassroots racers with an affordable, competitive, wheel-to-wheel series.

Building on the incredible worldwide success of the Ariel Atom as an ultra-performance track-day car, the only next logical step is to transform it into a successful competition car.

The Spec Race Atom (SRA) competition vehicle builds on the Ariel Atom 3 production chassis with the addition of a SRA specific roll structure as well as other motorsport safety additions.  Performance is kept reliable and consistent with the use of naturally-aspirated Honda K20 engines from HPD.

The 2011 Spec: RaceAtom series presented by Honda Racing/HPD will mark the first time in the 10 year history of the Ariel Atom that there has been an exclusive one-make series for this exciting vehicle.

AAE Fleet Build 2011

TMI is very pleased to re-launch the popular Ariel Atom Experience driving events in 2011 in partnership with Virginia International Raceway.

In preparation for the season opening event on April 30th - TMI is working to complete a brand new fleet of 5 vehicles for these exciting events.

The AAE events are a great way for individuals, or groups, to get behind the wheel of an Ariel Atom on a real race track.

Holiday Laps a Success!

TMI was pleased to be a part of the annual Holiday Laps event that is hosted by Virginia International Raceway on November 12th. 

Holiday Laps allows participants the opportunity to drive their own vehicle on the race track for a 25 minute session for a mere $25 donation to the Salvation army in the form of cash, food, or toys.  In addition to this the participants had the opportunity to donate an additional $10 and go for a ride in an Ariel Atom 3 at speed around the VIR Full course.  All donations were given directly to the Salvation Army.

This year with over 250 cars in attendance the Salvation Army was able to raise over $10,000!

We were extremely pleased by the event this year and the generosity of the participants.  The Ariel Atom rides were "sold out" with the supercharged Atom 3 running continuously from 9am to 3pm! 

It was a great day....for  great cause and we certainly look forward to participating again next year.  Thank you to everyone who came out!

Ariel Atom V8 is Coming!

That's right!  The Ariel Atom V8 is coming!  Early 2011 will see the first of the limted production Ariel Atom V8s delivered to a North American client.  Stay tuned for more details.

Atom X - Goodwood Celebration

The Ariel Atom is currently celebrating its 10th Anniversary and recently held an event called Atom X in England.  One of the highlights was a track event at the famous Goodwood motor circuit.

A picture says a thousand words!  Maybe you can join us next time? It was a fanstatic event that brought together people from around the world for the track event, tech seminars, and a chance to meet other Atom owners.

Ariel Atom ownership - More than just performance figures

Many automotive enthusiasts get lost in the blur of performance figures, option choices, and supercar lap time comparisons.  We are guilty of this as well.    With all of the facts being put to print it is often very easy to forget the other benefits that come with owning a supercar....The statistics that you just cannot put to print.  Meeting up with a group of like-minded owners for a Sunday morning drive.  Meeting up with a group of owners to hang out in a local parking lot to talk about cars.  Getting away from the daily grind for a few hours and enjoying yourself....and your car. 

Recently there was an event in Califonia that brought together a number Atoms.  Below are a couple pictures that speak for themselves. 

Sometimes it is nice to step away from performance figures and track tests and enjoy everything that Ariel Atom ownership has to offer - It is relaxing just  looking at these pictures.

Eddie Hill Joins the Ariel Atom Team

April 14, 2010 Alton, VA – TMI AutoTech, Inc. is pleased to announce a new and exciting association with Eddie Hill’s Fun Cycles of Wichita Falls, TX.  This new partnership will see Eddie Hill’s Fun Cycles represent the Ariel Atom brand as the Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas exclusive dealer. 

Eddie Hill’s Fun Cycles is a well established business with 44 years of service as a motorcycle, ATV, and powersports dealer maintaining the Better Business Bureau highest rating of A+.  The dealership will provide sales and service for the new Ariel Atom 3, as well as provide sales, service, and support to existing Ariel Atom 2 owners.

Eddie Hill’s Fun Cycles was opened in 1966 by Eddie Hill who has since gone on to become famous in the world of North American motorsport.  Eddie is the only racer to have set official National Records as the fastest and quickest in the sport of drag racing and has also won World Championships in Top Fuel cars as well as Top Fuel boats.  One of Eddie’s most notable accomplishments came in 1988 when he was the first person to officially run the ¼ mile in under 5 seconds! 

After retirement from full time racing Eddie continues to be very active at his dealership along with his wife Ercie.  When not at work Eddie continues to spend free time at the race track and can routinely be found with his own personal Ariel Atom at local race tracks turning some very quick laps.

The Atom 3 tackles Limerock Park

TMI AutoTech had the pleasure of attending a club event at Limerock Park over the weekend. Weather could not dampen the day with numerous miles driven around the twisty, undulating, and historic road course in the Ariel Atom 3 demo car.  "This was a great opportunity to mingle with club members, talk about cars, driving, and it also gave us the opportunity to showcase the Atom 3s on track potential"enthused Mark Swain. "Rain and flowing water on-track were great challenges as a driver but the Atom 3 handled them with ease; It was great to take members for ride-alongs and show the reliability, performance, and fun that can be had in the Atom regardless of weather!"
